Yitzhak Ben-Zvi was one of the immigrants from the Second Aliyah, one of the founders of the Bar Giora organization and one of the founders of Hashomer.
When he arrived in Israel, he was fascinated by dealing with the past of the country, its history and especially the people who lived in it.
He was busy trying to find and locate the Jews - the descendants of those who had lived in the country since the days of the Second Temple.
One of the places where he was excited to find such Jews was in Peki'in, and thus he developed a special bond with Peki'in and its Jewish residents.
As part of a conference at Yad Ben Zvi this year, a lecture was held in 2020 that dealt with the chain of generations in Peki'in.
